You do not need to install an app, add a browser extension or log in with your Facebook account. Everything happens in your browser, so the downloader works the same on an iPhone, an Android phone, a Windows PC, a Mac or a Chromebook. Each download page also shows the original caption and the name of the page that posted the video, so you always know where a clip came from.
Why use the Facebook Video Downloader?
HD and SD
Choose the best quality Facebook offers for the video, usually 720p or 1080p, or a lighter SD file that saves storage and mobile data.
MP4 with sound
When Facebook serves picture and audio separately, we merge them into one MP4 so the saved file always plays with sound.
MP3 option
Keep only the audio of a talk, a recipe video or a live music clip as an MP3 file.
No login needed
We never ask for your Facebook email or password. The tool only works with videos that are already public.
Share links work
Links copied from the Share button, including facebook.com/share and fb.watch short links, are resolved automatically.
Free, no limits
There are no credits, no sign-up and no premium plan. Ads on the site pay for the servers.
How to use it, step by step
- 01
Find the video
Open the video on facebook.com or in the Facebook app. It must be public, not limited to friends or a private group.
- 02
Copy the link
Tap Share and choose Copy link. On a computer you can also copy the address from the browser bar while the video is open.
- 03
Paste into SavyClip
Come back to this page, paste the link into the box and press Download. The platform is detected for you.
- 04
Save the file
After a short countdown, pick MP4 HD, MP4 SD or MP3 and the file is saved to your Downloads folder.
Why download Facebook videos?
Facebook lets you save videos inside the app, but saved items stay in your Facebook account and need an internet connection to play. They also disappear when the page that posted them deletes the video. A real MP4 file on your own device plays offline in any video player, can be moved to a USB stick or a laptop, and stays available even if the original post is removed later.
People download Facebook videos for many everyday reasons: a cooking tutorial to follow in the kitchen without Wi-Fi, a lecture or webinar replay to watch on a flight, a clip from a local news page to show to family, or a backup of the videos they posted on their own page over the years.
Which Facebook videos can be downloaded?
SavyClip works with public videos from pages, public profiles and the Watch tab, as well as public posts that contain a video. Videos shared only with friends, videos inside private groups and paid or restricted content cannot be accessed, because they require a login. Ongoing live streams cannot be saved either.
Every video belongs to the person or page that published it. Download only content you created or have permission to keep, give credit when you share, and never re-upload other people's work as your own. SavyClip is not affiliated with Facebook or Meta.
